The normal alarm is enough, change the horn for a damn train horn if you wanna scare people. Ask me how I know that and I will wish you get kicked in the balls by a horse.

A surge can happen that will fry the entire dash and could set your car on fire as the worst.

any ideas?ġ- eliminate all non stock things from the foot well fusebox, its not designed for anything be tapped there, if you have to add things run separate wiring and buy fuse panel from amazon, they cost 5.95 plus shippingĢ- any after market alarms, need to be taken off, if a sensor fries it can take all kinds of things out with it, also 99 percent of these alarms require hampering the clutch pedal switch the moment you do this your cruise control will not work and neither will etacs. grounding the dashlight illumination wire seemed to solve the issue with the other people's running lights but it didn't solve mine. the issues seemed to all be related to the dashlight illumination wire because no aftermarket stereo uses that wire. i've read on other forum threads that dashboard/running lights issues usually happen right after an aftermarket stereo is installed. when i pop a new fuse in there, they stay on until i move the car, then the fuse blows again. The problem that persists: the fuse under the hood for my dashboard/running lights keeps blowing. i disconnected one of the random wires in the heap of them on my stereo and the alarm stopped acting up. One thing that i've proven to be caused by the stereo wiring is, when my car was locked and sitting for a while, the alarm would randomly go off. with that being said, here's what my issues have been: i believe my electrical issues are 100% caused by the stereo wiring but i don't know what else to do.

the wiring is hacked together, looks like it was done by a previous owner.

first off, i got the car with an aftermarket stereo already in it. i found a few threads on various forums that were on similar issues but nobody seemed to have my exact problem. So since i got my car i've had trouble figuring out the cause of this.
